“SSFFTV” CD
Ok, let it be knows that chris often gives me stuff to review that’s to weird for her to hack, so if your looking for lots of great anarcho peace punk with duel singalong vocals and grinding metal intensity, your probably not going to find it in my review section! That now laid bare for all to see, on with some serious weirdness. This is whacked out Misfits B movie Man Or Astorman at a high speed stuff wit heavily Christian lyrics and info which they are apparently quite serious about (?) - and it mixes in with the monster movie lyrics in the oddest ways. And check these out “she tried her lighter in her x wing fighter - it never shed light on my sister- yeah, I kissed her - but princess leigah was a skywalker - yeah - chewbacca was a rocker.” and it goes on and on!! This is some of the weirdest sh*t ever - in the best of ways - it’s fu*king awesome, really funny, fast energetic, ridiculous, clever, and rockin. Oh my...Amen I guess. - “Slug and Lettuce-#52”

Imagine if you will Rod serling filling in for the Dead Kennedys or the Dickies if you will...then in the midst he transformers into a howling Jello Biafra singing about Werewolves, Vampires, Sci-Fi, Movies, Religion....My Personal Favorite is “King of the Beach”, remember the old ads in comic books showing you how not to be a wuss...and how to get the chicks with big muscles...its all about that and then some. - “Chaos-#1”

Lots of bands sound like other bands mainly because they are influenced by them or just listen to them too much. These lads sound like the Dead Kennedys. I mean really like the Dead Kennedys. To the extent that if Jello and the boys had brought out a album between Fresh Fruit and Plastic Surgery, this is what you would imagine it sounding like. Its uncanny. Almost a little too uncanny. Maybe it just seems a bit false. The lyrics are about God and his relationship with Sci-Fi movies and M.R.R.. Images of dancing priests and motorbike Vicars Spring to mind. - “Gearhead Nation-#35”

Christian punk alert! I thought that it was all a joke, but I was wrong. In the lyrics section of the cd jacket there’s a note about God (complete with Bible Verses) and this gem: “I would like to say to my Christian brothers and sisters that even though there is a prevalent sci-fi/ horror theme to our songs, we do not necessarily recommend that you entertain yourself with this genre.......We hope that you will observe “Secular” media with discernment and with a prayerful attitude. The songs, as if this needs to be said, revolve around God and al that other waste called Organized Religion mixed with plenty of science fiction imagery. The music, oddly enough reminds me of Nomeansno at times, though personally I would never buy this though. I have principles. Is this some kind of a Joke? - “Married Punks-#11”
